Buffalo Shopping
Shoppers don’t have far to roam in and around Buffalo. Walden Galleria, in suburban Cheektwaga, ranks as the region's premier shopping destination, with other shopping magnets including Fashion Outlets of Niagara, with more than 150 name brand manufacturers in Niagara Falls and the Boulevard Mall in Amherst with Kaufmann’s and Sears. McKinley Mall in Hamburg has more than 100 specialty stores, and there’s also Eastern Hills Mall and Transtown Plaza in Williamsville. Buffalo’s Elmwood Avenue is home to funky albeit chic shops, boutiques, eateries and bars. Also near downtown, Elmwood Village serves as a shopping magnet. Hertel Avenue in North Buffalo has been reborn into a stronghold for antiques and home furnishings. East Aurora, home of the National Historic Landmark Roycroft Campus, provides quaint shopping atmosphere with antique dealers, art galleries, a five and dime, ice cream shop, toy store and more along a main drag from a bygone era. For ethnic charm and treats including Polish stuffed dumplings, Broadway Market on the city’s east side is one of the nation’s oldest continuously-operated public markets.
